Meet Drewe McKay
Physiotherapist & founder of The Physio Corner
Hi, I’m Drewe!
I created The Physio Corner to offer welcoming, personalised physiotherapy in Torquay. My aim is to be a local physio you can get to know and feel comfortable returning to whenever you need support.
One of the things I enjoy most about physiotherapy is its variety—the people I meet, the concerns they bring and the different goals we work towards together.
My Background
Across my eight years as a physiotherapist, I have worked across a variety of settings including private practice, sports, aged-care and community. This has involved supporting people of all ages with everyday aches and pains, sporting injuries and recovery after surgery. Alongside individual treatment, I’ve also led strength & conditioning, and clinical pilates classes, helping people build strength, confidence and trust in their bodies.
Alike most musculoskeletal physiotherapists, sport has been a significant part of my clinical experience. I’ve worked with athletes across football, basketball, netball, soccer, athletics, cricket, dance and gymnastics — from local and community sport through to the NAB League, NPL, VIS athletes and Netball Victoria. This has included supporting developing adolescent athletes, competitive athletes, marathon runners and adults returning to the sports they enjoy.
But your goal doesn’t need to be competitive. Whether you’re preparing for an event, working towards your first 5 km or simply wanting to walk along the kick a ball with your kids, I enjoy helping people move well and get back to what matters to them.

How I approach your care
Your treatment starts with understanding you—what’s bothering you, how it affects your day and what you want to get back to.
I combine hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation and practical advice, with a plan tailored to your goals and routine. I’ll explain my assessment findings, talk through your options and work with you to make your next steps clear and manageable.
I want you to feel listened to, understand your care and help you to build your confidence in managing your health beyond the clinic.
Outside the clinic
Movement is a big part of my life. You’ll find me running, hiking, strength training, playing football with the Torquay Tigers or coaching gymnastics. I’ve also completed three marathons, competed in HYROX and trained for 12 years as a national gymnast myself, so I understand the commitment that goes into working towards a personal goal.
I know how much being active can mean—and how frustrating it can be when injury gets in the way.
Away from sport, I love to travel and enjoy a coffee at the beach with my partner and our cavalier, Jasper.
Move well. Live fully.
This is the philosophy behind The Physio Corner.
Helping you build the strength, comfort and confidence to enjoy the things that matter to you.
